As the first provider of residential aged care in Queensland, Wesley Mission Queensland has a long and proud history of providing compassionate and quality care dating back to 1847. Queensland's first aged care community, the Garden Settlement (now Wheller Gardens) opened in 1936 when George Marchant gifted land and money to enable the Rev H M Wheller to open a garden settlement in Chermside for elderly people.
