Date: SATURDAY ONLY // 10am and 12pm
Location: Roma Street Parkland
Roma Street Parkland is one of the world’s largest subtropical gardens in a city centre.
Opened in 2001, the parkland has established itself as one of the best contemporary display gardens in Australia. A mixture of large open spaces, lush subtropical planting and historic landscapes has created a unique inner city parkland and popular destination for both residents and visitors to enjoy.
The Brisbane Open House program will feature a special walk, only available for this weekend - 'From compost to flowering beauty'. Visitors will learn about the parkland's process of creating its own compost from green waste. Collected across the city, the tour will demonstrate how it supports our amazing floral displays including a visit to the parkland's 'back of house' area to witness the process first hand.
Tour Tip: Wear enclosed shoes.
Volunteer guided walks of the parkland will also take place during the day at 11am and 1pm.
