Architecture Film Night is an exciting showcase of films that inform and inspire about architecture, urban design, and public spaces. This event was presented in partnership with Brisbane Open House, URBNE Films and the Princess Theatre.
The event included a special double-feature screening of:
- Strange and Familiar: Architecture on Fogo Island (2015) is a film about how architecture can empower communities, inspire change and celebrate a sense of place. The story follows the design and making of the "Fogo Island Inn" by the Shorefast Foundation with architect Todd Saunders; and
- John Gollings: Eye for Architecture (2009) journeys into the world of cutting-edge architecture in Australia and Asia through the lens of renowned architectural photographer John Gollings.
The film night was also a great chance to celebrate the history of the Princess Theatre, and relive its days as a movie house and performance space from 1914 to 1942. Coffees, drinks and snacks were on sale by The Little Prince Espresso.
