KO & Co Architecture Studio

This sympathetic restoration and extension of an existing late 1800s shopfront is home to the KO&CoArchitecture studio along Musgrave Road. The humble original structure is visible from the extension across the courtyard and the large windows provide a view of the KO&Co team at work. At the rear is a car park and a considerate, contemporary extension which accommodates the meeting room, kitchen and two bathrooms. Inclusive design is demonstrated throughout the fitout, with accessibility of upmost importance in the kitchen and bathroom designs.

The classic charm of the shopfront is preserved within the stunning details around the office, including the maintenance of its original relationship with the street and within the block, celebrating the form and scale of the original building.

Musgrave Road Studio was awarded a commendation in the Small Project category at the Greater Brisbane Regional Awards for the Australian Institute of Architects in 2023.
