Built on the lands of the Turrbal people, Collin House was opened in 1928. Originally the five storey brick building was a parking station and car sales showroom for EG Eagers and Sons. Named after Captain William Collin, an early shipping company owner, the riverside building has also been the home of the Dunlop Rubber Company, Government offices and The Ritz Ballroom.
Today, it’s the Asia Pacific headquarters for design and architecture firm, Populous. With a Brisbane staff of 100, the team has designed many local landmarks including Suncorp, CBUS and Metricon stadiums, the Queensland Tennis Centre and elite training facilities for the Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys.
The team look forward to showing you around. You may spot images on the walls of exciting new projects including Christchurch Multi-Use Arena in New Zealand, the Brisbane Lions new home for AFL and AFLW in Springfield and Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong. There is also a large Robert Moore artwork from 2007 above the main stairs, titled True, Square, Plumb & Level. This piece has proudly featured in two of our previous Brisbane offices.
