Queensland Theatre is thrilled to reveal our city’s newest theatre precinct — the Bille Brown Theatre.
The Bille Brown Theatre is Brisbane’s first corner stage, a configuration designed to enhance today’s theatre experience. The new venue is equipped with the latest theatre technology including state-of-the-art acoustics specifically for the spoken word and a suspension grid that sits above the entire space offering unparalleled access for designers and technicians. The plush 351 person seating bank is a mere 10 rows deep, ensuring audiences experience direct connection with the performers at all times.
There has also been an increase in social spaces. The reconfigured courtyard retains Besse the Bottle Tree (transported all the way from Quilpie in 2002) and boasts a renovated foyer and bar as well as a patron’s deck which overlooks the courtyard and gives you a view into our wardrobe department on level one. Queensland Theatre’s complex also houses a large workshop space, wardrobe department, multi-level administration and numerous rehearsal spaces. Come and see how theatre is made all under one roof.
General access to the foyer, auditorium and courtyard. Behind the scenes access to the workshop, wardrobe, artist's greenroom, dressing rooms, Diane Cilento studio, world-class corner stage theatre and its backstage areas
