The Curator’s Cottage is a quaint heritage-listed cottage. Built in 1909 it still retains all of its vintage charm, with a few new additions courtesy of profit-for-purpose venture, the Wise Foundation.
Guided Tours from The Curator’s Cottage will head into the beautiful surrounds of the City Botanical Gardens with a focus on the past curators to reside in the residence. A special interest will be placed on the original Curator of the Gardens, Walter Hill (1820–1904).
Mr Hill was instrumental in the development of many of Queensland’s best know Agricultural Industries.
Frequency of Guided Tours: The City Botanic Gardens Guides will offer walks at 10 am, 11 am and 1 pm on Sunday 13th October. The theme of the walks will be history of the City Botanic Gardens including information regarding Walter Hill who was a former curator and resided in the Curator’s Cottage which will be featured. No bookings required, limited spaces available in each group.
