Set sail on a unique architectural journey along the Brisbane River with Bureau Proberts’ Brisbane River Residential Architecture Tour. This special ferry experience invites you to see the city from a new perspective—one shaped by thoughtful design, urban evolution, and the power of place.

As you glide past the ever-changing skyline, you’ll discover how Brisbane is moving beyond its suburban past. With more people choosing high-quality, architect-designed apartments, the riverfront is fast becoming a canvas for contemporary living. This tour highlights how architecture is not only changing the way we live, but also helping to define Brisbane’s identity in the 21st century.

Guided by Bureau Proberts Creative Director Liam Proberts and special guests, you’ll explore some of the city’s most compelling residential developments—from transformed woolstores to sculptural high-rises—all while cruising along the iconic river that connects them.

Please note: A valid Go Card is required for travel.

The Tour:

The afternoon tour kicks off at 1:45pm at 30 Love Street, Bulimba, where you’ll explore Canvas, a beautifully crafted apartment development that sets the stage for the journey ahead. At 2:15pm, the group will enjoy a short walk to the Bulimba Ferry Terminal before boarding the 2:32pm service to South Bank.

Along the river, you’ll pass a collection of residential landmarks, starting with the Newstead Series, including the adaptive reuse of Dakota, Antonia, and Saratoga. Next up are the striking Catalina Houses and a series of elegant New Farm residences— including Vaucluse and The Oxlade—that showcase the evolution of apartment living.

As we continue toward Kangaroo Point, you’ll see architectural gems such as Silt, Walan, and Thornton, before finishing with Galleria and the Mantra Hotel South Bank Road (formerly Saville South Bank Apartments). Throughout the journey, special guests will offer insights into the shifting identity of the Brisbane River and the pivotal role architecture is playing in its story.

The tour concludes at 3:13pm at South Bank, where you can continue your Brisbane Open House adventure—or join us for a drink at the Riverside Café & Bar, on us!
