The United Service Club Queensland, established in 1892, is a prestigious private members’ club with a rich history. Initially a social hub for Queensland military officers, the club now welcomes members and guests of all backgrounds, honouring its military, civilian, and business connections.
Since 1947, our club has been housed in two historic buildings designed by Brisbane architect Claude William Chambers. The Green House (circa 1907) and Montpelier building (circa 1910) feature original fireplaces, stained glass windows, pressed metal ceilings and Italian chandeliers, offering Edwardian elegance across our dining, event, and accommodation areas.
As part of Brisbane Open House 2024, we invite you to enjoy guided tours, live music, and wine tastings. Relax in our Members Bar with tea, coffee, wine, beer, soft drinks, and a selection of cakes and pastries. Alternatively, savour paella, wagyu burgers, and roast pork rolls prepared by our chefs on the front terrace.
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a large mahogany elephant statue at the entrance. Many visitors have patted its rump over the years for good luck. Just one of the many charming touches you’ll find when you visit the club. We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday, 13th July.
