Cox Architecture – Green Bridge talks
Location: Cox Architecture Studio
Time: 2:00PM
Immerse yourself in the architecture studio behind the conceptual design of Brisbane City Council’s Kangaroo Point Green Bridge (KPGB), whilst overlooking the bridge itself. Cox Architecture Director Richard Coulson and Brisbane City Council’s City and Place Manager Peter Leeds will talk through the Bridge design process.
Cox Architecture Studio has been located in Old Mineral House for more than 25 years. It is a Heritage listed building completed in the last years of the 19th Century. The Studio reveals many of the qualities of the original building including cast iron columns, Queensland hardwood beams and structural brickwork.
Cox Architecture’s presentation is an opportunity to reflect on the building and creating a modern workplace within the space as well as observing the adjacent construction of the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge.
Cox with Arup developed the reference design for the Green Bridge for Brisbane City Council which is now under construction. The genesis of the scheme and the amenity and connectivity developed will be discussed as part of the wider Bridges for Brisbane program.
