VILLAGES OF BRISBANE – PADDINGTON, AS PART OF PADDINGTON NOW & THEN FESTIVAL – SAT 5 AUG
Our 2023 Villages of Brisbane – Paddington edition will be held on Saturday 5 August 2023 in and around the quaint, hillside suburb of Paddington.
In addition to the traditional VOB program of buildings and spaces, talks and tours, guests to this year’s VOB event will be treated to a feast for the senses as we’ve partnered up with the Paddington Now & Then Festival to provide the additional benefits of local food, fashion, entertainment and retail, as the precincts of Given Terrace and Latrobe Terrace come alive.
Paddington Now & Then Festival
The Paddington Now & Then Festival is a free outdoor event. It is led by Caylie and Kerry of Paddington Then & Now, who are passionate history enthusiasts and preservers of the unique inner-west suburb history.
The pair are keen to share the stories and history of The Terraces – a living showcase of Brisbane’s local best – and encourage visitors to explore the eclectic mix of boutique fashion, lifestyle, destination dining and unique, artisan experiences.
The historic character lined main streets will be decorated with vibrant orange bows and there will be over 100 Terrace traders. You can also take the Terrace Walk and go into the running to win the $5,000 Ultimate Paddington Experience.
VOB: Paddington
Many of the The Terraces sites will be open to discover as part of Villages of Brisbane. These include commercial heritage gems, antique and vintage hot spots that have made the area so iconic, and of course activations across the precinct including the historic Trammie’s corner.
We’re excited to partner with Paddington Then & Now to help showcase the historic gems and architecturally significant buildings, as well as the tours and talks that will be on offer in the precinct – including a guided tour with our Board Chair Malcolm Middleton, OAM LFRAIA.
With so much to see and do in one day, you will want to ensure you mark your calendar!
