Each year, visitors are invited to capture the city’s most remarkable architectural places and spaces by entering the Brisbane Open House Photography Competition.

Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or love snapping on your smartphone, this is your chance to celebrate the creativity, and character of Brisbane’s built environment — and be in the running for great prizes.

Prizes are awarded across five categories, with an Overall Winner selected from entries across all categories.

Celebrate architectural form through striking images of a building’s façade, shape, and scale.

Focus on light, materials, spatial design, and atmosphere inside a space.

Highlight craftsmanship, ornamentation, or clever architectural elements.
Prize: $100

People
Capture the relationship between people and place — architecture in use, movement, or appreciation.
Prize: $100

Viewing Roofing
New for 2025, this category is dedicated to rooftops, from intricate ceilings to impressive aerials or unexpected angles.
Prize: $100

How to Enter

  1. Take your photo(s) during Brisbane Open House 2025 weekend (19–20 July).

  2. Submit your best shots via the Brisbane Open House website — entries open on this page from 9:00am, Saturday 19 July. Participants are welcome to enter an image into each category.

  3. Entries close at 5pm on Friday, 25 July 2025.
