Each year, visitors are invited to capture the city’s most remarkable architectural places and spaces and enter them into the Brisbane Open House Photography Competition. Entries celebrate the creativity and character of Brisbane’s built environment. Thank you to everyone who entered the competition this year. We had a record 636 entries from 151 photographers – see all of the winners here.
2026 Overall Winner: First House by Sue Wang
Prizes were awarded in a range of categories, with an Overall Winner selected from entries across all of the categories. The Overall Winner received a prize of $750, and each category winner received $150.
Viewing Roofing
Entrants captured inspiring rooftops viewed from above or below, whether from an aerial perspective, an unusual angle, or through the intricate detailing within roof structures.
People
Entrants captured the relationship between people and place: architecture in use, movement, or appreciation.
Building: Exterior
This category celebrated architectural form through striking images of a building’s façade, shape and scale.
Building: Interior
Entries focused on light, materials, spatial design and atmosphere inside a space.
Building: Detail
Entries highlighted craftsmanship, ornamentation and clever architectural elements.

All entries were taken at participating buildings during the event weekend (18 and 19 July) or at Brisbane Open House events throughout the year.
