Brisbane Open House returns: Friday 16 to Sunday 18 July 2027

Brisbane Open House (BOH) is a public celebration of the city’s architecture, heritage and built environment. Each July, buildings and spaces usually closed to the public, open their doors, giving locals and visitors the chance to explore the places that shape our city. We are inviting expressions of interest from building owners, managers, designers, organisations and interested members of the public for the 2027 program.

  • When: Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 July 2027.
Participating on Friday must be in addition to Saturday and/or Sunday, not instead of.
  • Where: Buildings and venues across Greater Brisbane.
  • What: Buildings and building tours, guided walking tours, workshops, panel discussions or talks, film screenings and exhibitions.
  • Who takes part: Architects, designers, developers, councils, cultural institutions, businesses, community groups and private owners.
  • Who attends: Design enthusiasts, families, students, professionals, curious locals and interstate visitors.

Ways to take part

How to apply

Applying takes only a few minutes. Complete the online EOI form or suggest a building, and tell us how you’d like to take part. We’ll be in touch to discuss next steps. Submitting an EOI is not a commitment; it simply starts the conversation. It is free to apply and to take part. EOIs are reviewed by the BOH team, considering design merit, public interest, accessibility and the balance of the program.
