Brisbane Open House has missed you!

In our tenth year of Brisbane Open House, in 2019, our program welcomed over 120 venues, 80,000 visits and 60 workshops. It was our biggest year to date and our audience swelled to over 12,000 email subscribers, and over 10,000 followers on both Facebook and Instagram.

Enter Covid and, like others in the cultural and events industries who have been among the most adversely affected by the pandemic, we have been in a holding pattern.

While we have not been able to hold our popular event, our audience has still continued to grow. We have received so many messages from you, asking if and when 2022 will be going ahead, if you can be involved and a multitude of building recommendations.

The long wait is over!

There are a few changes to this year’s event and we are so excited to share the following with you…

Brisbane Open House will be held over the weekend of 27-28 August 2022. This event will feature 30 – 40 venues across Brisbane. The (yet to be unveiled) program will feature some of our most popular previous venues, as well as some never-seen-before and other projects.

We are introducing an Iconic Precinct as part of our Brisbane Open House event.

We are delighted to announce our partnership with Aria and thank them in supporting us to present this inaugural year at Fish Lane Arts Precinct.

We are introducing the Villages of Brisbane (VOB) on Sunday 21 August.

For our inaugural year of this new, wonderful, community based event, we will be showcasing Sandgate. With approximately 15 venues and 5 walking trails, VOB will highlight the rich history and interesting architecture of the area.

Each year we will introduce a new Village of Brisbane to showcase local communities across the greater Brisbane region and the vast and diverse history and design of different areas of Brisbane.

Our Partners and Supporters

We would not be able to present this free public event without the support of our wonderful partners and supporters.

For our 2022 event, we graciously welcome Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young PSM Governor of Queensland  and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD, as joint Patrons of Brisbane Open House.

Brisbane Open House acknowledges the financial support of the Queensland State Government through the Department of Environment and Science.

We thank our Founding Parters  Queensland GovernmentThe Committee for Brisbane and The National Trust of Australia (Queensland).
