Blaklash is a Brisbane-based First Nations design practice operating at the intersection of architecture, art, landscape, urban design and community engagement. Founded by Amanda Hayman (Kalkadoon/Wakka Wakka), the practice is built on a Country-led approach — translating First Nations perspectives and knowledge systems into design outcomes that strengthen the connection between people, culture and place. Projects include the Victoria Park / Barrambin masterplan, the Eastern Kuku Yalanjiwarra Culture and Tourism Hub, and a major facade commission for QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus. Across everything they do, Blaklash positions First Nations agency not as an add-on but as the foundation from which better design — and better social outcomes — can grow.
During Brisbane Open House, visitors are invited to discover Blaklash’s new offices and join a guided tour to hear firsthand about the practice, their work and their vision for a Country-led future in design.
