Pre-booked guided tours and some general access // Bus Loop

In 2025, Brisbane Airport celebrated its 100th anniversary, marking a century of connecting the region to the world. In 2026 projects across the precinct are bringing Brisbane Airport into a new era.

Officially opening at Eagle Farm in 1925, it expanded to its current site in 1988. Key milestones include the opening of the Domestic Terminal in 1998, the International Terminal in 1995 and the New Parallel Runway in 2020.

From its humble beginnings Brisbane Airport has been integral to the city’s growth, welcoming events like World Expo ’88, the 1982 Commonwealth Games, and the 2014 G20 Summit.

Today, Brisbane Airport is the third busiest by passenger numbers, serving over 22.6 million travelers in FY24. The airport operates 24/7 and connects to 32 international destinations, 62 domestic destinations and connects regional Queenslanders with world-class medical services in Brisbane through critical aeromedical services like Royal Flying Doctor Service and LifeFlight. BNE is more than just an airport, over 600+ businesses are located at the precinct employing over 20,000 people, making Brisbane Airport an essential employment hub for our city and state.

Future BNE

By 2050, the airport expects to exceed 50 million annual passengers. To support this growth, over the next decade Brisbane Airport is investing $5+ billion in over 150 projects, including a third passenger terminal, major renovations to both existing terminals, major commercial business developments, and much more.

What’s happening at Brisbane Airport will improve the way you travel, create jobs and prepare Brisbane for 2032 and beyond.

Join the Brisbane Airport team on a unique bus loop opportunity. For one day only, Brisbane Airport will run a looping bus service from the Skygate precinct to the new Fellowship Place plane spotting platform. A great opportunity to check out parts of the airport you wouldn’t usually stop at and a look at the new plane spotting platform, with a REAL Fokker F28 aircraft tail installation.
