For 110 years, St Laurence’s College has stood high on the hill overlooking South Brisbane and the wider Brisbane City area.
Prior to this, 82 Stephens Road was the home of St Kilian Parish school which unfortunately succumbed to fire in the early 1900s. In 1912, Archbishop Duhig approved the building of a new school with St Laurence’s College opening three short years later on Sunday 11 April 1915. This schoolhouse, currently referred to as the Brother Hogan Building, now houses the College Primary School following extensive renovations in 2019.
In 1915, the Brothers Monastery, now called the Brother Adams Administration Building was constructed. This building housed the Brothers including all living quarters, food and health dispensary as well as a Chapel. In 2009, the Brothers moved to alternative housing which saw the renovation of the space into the main Administration Building for the College.
