TRI is a global leader in the effective translation of research and innovation into improved healthcare.

A unique partnership between The University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, Mater Research and Queensland Health, TRI’s collaborative ecosystem has delivered powerful impact since opening in 2012.

The building’s design embraces Brisbane’s emphasis on openness, natural light and connected indoor–outdoor environments. Large windows, visible activity across floors, and views into the Atrium create transparency and reflect the city’s architectural preference for airy, community centred spaces. The facility’s collaborative layout, the interconnected “community of research”, supports Brisbane’s cultural identity as an innovation driven, inclusive and health focused city, while contributing to the broader Boggo Road Innovation Junction, an area already woven into Brisbane’s scientific and educational heritage.

Located within the Princess Alexandra Hospital campus and the Boggo Road Innovation Junction, the facility strengthens ties between research, clinical care and industry. Its co-location with clinicians (at PAH), industry tenants, and government and university organisations allows seamless “bench to bedside” translation, supported by shared Core Facilities and ENTRI, a clinical grade manufacturing hub. These connections amplify the precinct’s collective capability – linking hospitals, universities, advanced manufacturing, and research centres enabling collaboration.

Participants will have the opportunity to preview ENTRI prior to its official opening later this year.
