Join QAGOMA for a special Brisbane Open House film screening, that explores architecture not just as built form, but as a lens through which we understand art, space, and human connection.
1.00pm – Office Baroque (1977, 44 mins)
From the QAGOMA collection, this rarely screened documentary captures the radical art practice of Gordon Matta-Clark. Office Baroque follows Matta-Clark’s process of cutting into buildings—interventions that challenge conventional ideas about architecture, space, and function. His concept of “anarchitecture” blurs the boundaries between sculpture and structure, questioning what buildings mean and how we live in them.
The screening will be introduced by QAGOMA Film Curator Victoria Wareham, offering unique insight into how this film speak to the intersection of art, architecture, and cinema.
