The 2026 program features a record number of private residential homes opening their doors to the public, alongside more than 30 buildings new to the program. From heritage landmarks to cutting-edge commercial towers, intimate private residences to civic institutions, the full program will be revealed next Monday.
Can’t wait until then? Three events are already open for booking.
What does it really take to breathe new life into a heritage building — and get it right? Join Brisbane Open House for an evening with the client, architect, and policy voices behind some of Queensland’s most compelling heritage transformations. Hosted by the Queensland Government Architect, the panel will explore projects including the Princess Theatre and the residential restoration of Home, and introduce the State’s emerging QHeritage guidance. Tickets include a glass of wine and nibbles.
Twenty images. Twenty seconds each. Pecha Kucha is back for Vol. 69, bringing together a diverse lineup of architects, designers, and creatives for one fast and thought-provoking evening. Speakers share their work, their obsessions, and the stories behind the buildings and ideas shaping our city — all under the pressure of the clock. Proudly supported by Cbus Property.
Got a budding architect at home? This hands-on workshop invites kids to transform real construction materials into imaginative mini homes and spaces. Using timber, cardboard, and salvaged materials, they’ll design, build, and experiment in a session that’s creative, tactile, and a little bit messy — in the best way. Sessions run throughout the morning and are best suited to ages 5–12. Parental supervision required.
The full Brisbane Open House 2026 program launches Monday 15 June at brisbaneopenhouse.com.au.
